I wanted to show you guys my top 5 favourite foundations, some which are new to me and some that i have been going back to for years now.
I have chosen 5 foundations which all vary in coverage, from full to light coverage and matte/dewy finishes.
Le Teint Touche Eclat by YSL (Perfect for Dry/Combo Skin) – This is by far my favourite dewy foundation that ive been using lately. Le Teint Touche Eclat is a medium coverage dewy finish foundation that is great for those of you with dry skin as it doesn’t pull up or show your dry patches. I dont think this would be a good one for those with oily skin as it can make you look a little shiny, I really like this one because yes it might be medium coverage but the foundation still looks like skin so you dont get that mask effect when you use a heavier foundation. Le Teint Touche Eclat is best applied with a sponge as it can look a little streaky if you use a foundation brush.
Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation (Good for Oily/Combo Skin) This foundation is truly magic for those of you with acne, scarring, redness and discolouration as this foundation is full coverage without being cakey. It applies as if it was a dewy foundation yet its quite matte and full coverage. Magic Foundation contains VC-IP which is basically supercharged vitamin c that will help to combat discoloration and pigmentation over time so youre not just covering you’re actually treating it over time
Illamasqua Skinbase (Good All Rounder) The idea of Skinbase came from Blemish Balms (BB) found in Asia. Illamasqua developed this product well before the hype of the BB Cream but the difference is that Illamasqua took out the whitening agent found in a lot of asian BB creams and also took out the High SPF as to make it HD. This is a great foundation for photography as there is no flash back so its a win win for a night out! Skinbase is a medium coverage semi-matte finish which again leaves a really natural finish on the skin while providing truly buildable coverage.
NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser (All Skin Types) Although this isnt technically a foundation, its something ive come to really like lately as its not like a normal tinted moisturiser. Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser reminds me of a good BB cream as it has good coverage but doesn’t look like there is anything on your skin. If you are looking for something that’s going to even out your skintone and maybe slightly correct blemishes then this is for you! I have been using this personally for a good few months now and every time i wear it people can never tell which is good if you want that no makeup makeup look.
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation (Dry Skin/Combo) Now this is one of the first foundations that i had ever used and 7 years later im still using it so its a testament to how good it is. I originally started using it because I loved Chanel Pro Lumiere but it was always so expensive. I was told about this foundation by Pixiwoo and from them on this is what i used on a lot of people. This again is a dewy foundation that is medium coverage, these days there are a lot of foundations like this but 7 years ago there wasnt many beautifully dewy foundation.
You can probably tell that i like a foundation with good coverage, a bit of glow and still looks like skin. Im of that idea that you dont need something like Estee Lauder Double Wear to cover your skin because it starts to look like a mask what i like to do is use a lighter coverage foundation on the good parts of the skin that you love just to let the skin shine through and use a fuller coverage foundation on the more problem areas this way you dont get that mask look and you look like a better version of yourself
